How do I know a Consultation is right for me?
if you want to discuss whether nutritional therapy would be useful for you then please |
When you are satisfied that you would like to discuss your health in detail, I will send a confidential client questionnaire for you to fill out and return prior to the first consultation. The questionnaire enables me to research your medication for drug-nutrient interactions and find appropriate handouts for your health issues. A first appointment can then be set up.
Appointments normally take place at 18 Kingsknowe Road South EH14 2JN.
You will need to bring a 3 day diet diary to each consultation, listing everything that you have eaten or drunk during these three days (don't be embarrassed or untruthful here as it is important to have an accurate picture of your normal eating habits),
What Happens at a Consultation?
A first consultation last up to 90 minutes where I will go through the completed questionnaire with you and ask lots of additional questions to gain a full picture of your health and lifestyle. We will also discuss your food diary and other aspects of your eating habits. This will help structure an individual programme for you. Together we will agree a manageable plan that will include dietary improvements, any lifestyle changes and possibly some supplement recommendations.
It can be difficult to implement changes and some people prefer to take longer than others. How quickly you feel an improvement will depend on how well you are able to embrace the suggested changes. I am available on email to provide support and information between appointments.
Follow up appointments usually take 40 mins where progress can be assessed, improvements monitored and the individual programme discussed and adjustments made. Some clients need additional suggestions to support making dietary changes. No one should feel they have failed if they have not stuck to the plan, it does take time for many people to feel the link between their diet and personal health and to change old habits.
The first follow up appointment should ideally be 4-6 weeks after the initial consultation Any appointments beyond that will be made on an individual basis if and when required.
Every client is different and support will be tailored around what you need whether it be with shopping, cooking motivation or anything else
How much does it cost?
